The Beaut base is an incredibly soft Merino Wool Single (single ply construction) in a Fingering/4 ply weight. This yarn is next to skin soft, and has a beautiful bloom - you can see the squish. It glides through the hand, doesn't split, and makes exceptionally warm and soft hats, mittens, cowls, shawls, and even sweaters (a tight twist gives it good wearability). The drape is outstanding for a 100% wool yarn.

Beaut Merino Singles is the yarn you didn't think you needed, but once you have it, it's something you won't want to live without.

Please note, when these yarns are hand-dyed, the same formula is used each time but skeins may vary one from the other even within the same dye lot. To ensure random colour distribution, we encourage you to work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating on every row in circular knitting and every other row in flat knitting. This blending creates a gorgeous fabric with depth and nuance.

The differences from one dye lot to another can be very subtle, or extremely noticeable, especially on variegated yarns.
